Feb 28, 5:30 PM: Feminist/Queer Praxis: Counseling Transgender Youth

Claire Coyne, PhD, is a pediatric psychologist in the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. Her clinical training and work has focused broadly on providing evidence-based treatment for at-risk youth and their families, including youth exposed to childhood trauma and gender-expansive and transgender youth. Dr. Coyne received a PhD from the Clinical Science Program in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Indiana University in 2015 and BA from the University of Chicago in 2004. She’ll be discussing gender-affirmative care for transgender and gender-expansive youth. The Feminist/Queer Praxis series, aimed at undergraduate audiences, brings artists, activists, scholars, and professionals to CSGS to talk about their work in the world as people committed to queer and feminist values and action.
