This panel will examine the structure of exchange between the scared and profane. It will examine markets where actors manage disreputable exchange in taboo markets. To push the field further the panel will ask how do you we think about exchanges that are âlegalâ but socially disreputable? How do market actors obfuscate disreputable ties through highly intimate and personal ways like gift-giving?
