ABOUT THE CONFERENCE:
Human trafficking, for sex work and other forms of labor, is one of the most highly visible international human rights issues of our time, attracting growing attention at the local, national and international levels. Trafficking has also engendered a rich body of scholarship from legal, sociological, anthropological, and historical perspectives. Nonetheless historians studying different geographic contexts rarely compare ideas or collaborate. We intend to bring together historians working in diverse geographic fields with activists and policymakers for the exchange of ideas.
